Lignotrend optimizes its online acoustic calculator: new features and improved auralization

The acoustic calculator available on Lignotrend’s website has been updated. This tool now allows users to listen to the acoustic effects produced by genuine wood Ligno panels. This realistic auralization provides an immersive sound experience close to reality. New options have also been added to further simplify space planning.

Architects and specialized designers trust Lignotrend elements.

Made from wood species sourced from the Black Forest, these cross-laminated timber panels have proven their high acoustic efficiency. The manufacturer offers a practical planning tool to easily anticipate the necessary absorbing surfaces for room acoustics improvement. This auditory simulation helps evaluate sound effects and facilitates communication with users. The updated calculator now includes additional features for a smoother user experience.

New features:

Realistic Auralization

Once the calculation is completed, the acoustic effect is instantly generated. The room’s sound is precisely simulated and delivered as an audio sample. This audible representation of abstract results, before or after the chosen adjustments, remains a valuable tool for facilitating communication between users and project managers.

Recommendations for Residential Spaces

From the start of the planning process, the Lignotrend acoustic calculator allows users to select the applicable regulations to correctly size surfaces. Already widely used in offices, sports halls, and schools, acoustic measures also play a key role in the sustainable design of residential spaces. Since standards provide little guidance in this field, the new version now relies on reference values specifically developed (Sarooma RRS, 2023). This significantly expands the calculator’s application to an essential sector.

Acoustic Management in Existing Buildings

The calculator first considers the dimensions, shape, and characteristics of floors, ceilings, walls, as well as furnishings and room occupancy. It then enables users to visualize the direct impact of Ligno products based on two main criteria: reverberation time and average acoustic absorption. If prior acoustic measurements are available, the planning can now rely on measured reverberation times. Lignotrend thus integrates the importance of acoustics in existing buildings.

Saving Spatial Planning Data

The update now allows users to save input data, making acoustic calculations easily accessible for future use or for adjusting previously calculated scenarios. This facilitates continuity in the planning process.
